MATERIALS!

At the heart of the Quest philosophy is the principle that all students, regardless of their backgrounds, should be actively involved in achieving their own academic success. Written in accordance with National Curriculum Levels, each of the five Quest levels incorporate reading and writing lessons with a clear focus on assessing pupil progress using explicit objectives and outcomes. Students develop their skills through reading a wide range of carefully selected texts covering fiction, non-fiction, plays and poetry.

Key Benefits:
• Based on a multi-lesson cycle
• Individual lessons follow the Cycle of Effective Instruction which encourages students to teach their learning to partners and teammates in order to consolidate their own understanding
• Driven by student-centred co-operative learning strategies
• Targeted at developing students individual accountability whilst they work towards a team goal
• Clear lesson plans and guidance notes to ensure that both English teachers and non-specialists can easily implement the Quest programme
• APP assessment opportunities are built into the teacher's lesson plans.
